THE HAPPIEST WEEK IN THE WORLD HAS ARRIVED!! YES. Comicon is the happiest week in the world. Don't believe me? Have you ever been?
Starting tomorrow, 150,000 people will descend upon San Diego ready to revel in the sheer joy of their passions. There will be costumes, there will be parties, there will be full on Klingon and Storm Trooper battalions marching the streets and I guarantee you that under those plastic helmets and latex are big, big smiles.
Outside of all the incredibly geeky panels and memorabilia, the thing that I love the most about Comicon is that for the people that go, it symbolizes freedom. Freedom to look how you want (no matter how ridiculous), freedom to express you true inner nerd and freedom to just be yourself. Comicon is all about no judgement and if anything, you're encouraged to just let it out! It's great!
And for me personally, it's something of a brain vacation from the other 350 days of the year where I have to talk about music. I spend more time reading comics and watching movies than I do researching or listening to music, but about 1/300 of the time discussing any of it. I HAVE A LOT OF PENT UP COMIC BOOK TALK TO LET OUT. So this is my moment! I get to go hang out a ton of older, middle aged men who are my heroes and you've probably never heard of, but that's OK, it keeps me in the game.
Of course, I couldn't let you go empty handed. We have some sick stuff happening TONIGHT, at COMICON and SUNDAY too! Check it all out below!!
